Description

Create the annual roll for licenses, produce renewal notices and process renewals, and print license bills and certificates. Maintenance of individual licenses is via Business Maintenance.

This task includes error logging which is shown in the Confirmation Detail Report. Also processing performs as follows:

  1. If no records match the search criteria, an error log is generated rather than a printed blank form.

  2. The process does not stop if an error occurs on a single certificate, but instead skips the record and continues printing the rest. A record of the error and skipped record is added to the Confirmation Detail Report.

Tasks Available

The following tasks are available from the Business License menu:

  • Create a new license roll using the New License Roll task.

    NOTE: The Business Revenue effective date Boolean application setting Business Type Roll Date to determine new license creation controls whether a new license renewal is created automatically when creating a new license roll. The new license roll is available on the Maintain Business License screen.

  • Generate and print the renewal notices for a license year using a batch process via the License Renewal Processing task.

  • Enter or scan business licenses to renew in Business Maintenance using the License Renewal task. You can also Maintain Business Licenses via the License Renewal task.

  • Transfer a business license and applicable bills to another business account owner using the Business License Transfer task.

  • Print a batch of bills after processing license renewals via the License Bills task.

  • Print a batch of license certificates, for example, after processing license renewals on the License Certificates screen.

  • Print a batch of license delinquent notices on the License Delinquent Notices screen.

  • Use the Management Company Maintenance Overview task to search for and maintain management companies that manage business tax accounts as a group so that Accounts Receivable can cashier the managed business tax accounts as a group.

  • Set up the tax years for a business calendar. The current tax year must be set up.

  • Set up business contact types as a systype of the systype category Legal Party Role Types.
