Report Criteria Groups

Description

Set up criteria groups to include or exclude revenue objects characteristics. These characteristics can include roll caste, roll type, tax type, tax class, TAG, lender, reason code, revenue object list, flags, installment amounts, legal parties, and value type. Use the criteria groups you create  to filter which reports print or export through the Mass Bill Print and Export task.

Steps

  1. On the Add or Edit Criteria Groups screen, click Add in the Report Criteria Groups panel, or click Edit for an item in the grid.

  2. On the Set Up Basic Group Criteria screen, enter a description.

  3. In the Postal Code Filtering Options panel, enter a postal code range and make a selection from the drop-down list.
  4. In the Tax Year Filtering panel, make a selection from the drop-down lists.
  5. In the Basic Criteria panel, use the drop-down lists at the bottom of the panel to specify criteria to include or exclude data from this group.
    • Click Add after making your selections.
    • Select the checkbox for an item in the list and click Remove to delete criteria.
  6. Click Next in the Command Item bar.

  7. On the Set Up Flag and Installment Criteria screen, use the drop-down lists at the bottom of the panel to specify flags to include or exclude data from this criteria group.
    • Click Add after making your selections.
    • Select the checkbox for an item in the list and click Remove to delete criteria.
  8. Click Next in the Command Item bar.

  9. On the Set Up Group Legal Party Criteria screen, use the drop-down lists at the bottom of the panel to include or exclude data from this criteria group when these legal parties exist for the revenue object.

    • Click Add after making your selections.
    • Select the checkbox for an item in the list and click Remove to delete criteria.
  10. Click Next in the Command Item bar.

  11. On the Set Up Group Assessment Event Criteria screen, use the drop-down lists at the bottom of the panel to include or exclude assessment events from this criteria group when these exist for the tax bills.

    • Click Add after making your selections.
    • Select the checkbox for an item in the list and click Remove to delete criteria.
  12. Click Next.
  13. On the Set Up Value Type Criteria screen, click Add in the Selected Value Group Criteria panel.
  14. In the Selected Value Criteria panel, enter or select information and click Update. This information is added to the Selected Value Group Criteria panel.
  15. If applicable, make selections from the Available Attributes and Attached Attributes panels.
  16. Click Finish in the Command Item bar.
  17. The criteria group is displayed in the Add or Edit Criteria Groups screen.
  18. Click Close to end the task.

Prerequisites

Configuration Menu

  • Calendar – The tax year and levy calendars must be set up before you can print reports.

  • Flag Setup – Define any flags that you will use to include or exclude reports from the criteria group. The Returned Mail and Sample Revenue Object flags are the flags currently used for Billing. They are assigned the entity type Revenue Object in the flag setup.

  • Systypes – User-defined systypes to set up are:
    Flag Type – You can add flags here, but preferably use Flag Setup to add the new flags (which are flag type systypes) so that you can also assign the flag values and entity type.
    Flag Value – Add new flag values. You must use Flag Setup to add assign the flag values.
    Roll Types – Property tax roll types.
    Tax Change Reason Codes – The codes used to flag changes to tax charges.

  • Tax authority groups – Set up prior to creating criteria groups.

Dependencies

  • You must set up criteria groups before you can process selected bills.

  • Criteria groups must be set up before you can print/export bills or Truth in Taxation notices.

  • You must set up criteria groups before you can print assessment notices.
