Regression Model Maintenance

Description

Use this task to add or edit details for a selected or new regression model.

Steps

  1. On the Regression Model Summary screen, make a selection from the Model Group drop-down list.
  2. In the Regression Model Summary Grid, click Add New, or click Edit for an item in the grid.
  3. In the Description and Notes tab, enter or edit the Model Name.
    • Make a selection from the Model Status drop-down list.

    • Enter or edit the Model Code.

    • Make a selection from the Model Group drop-down list.

    • Enter or edit the Model Description.

    • Click Save in the Command Item bar.

  4. In the Import Results tab, select the Regression Model Type.
    • Click Select File to Import, locate the file and click Open.

    • Click Upload.
    • Click Save in the Command Item bar.

  5. In the Regression Parameters tab, make a selection from the Regression Type drop-down list.
    • Make a selection from the Dependent Variable drop-down list.

    • Enter or edit the Model Expression.

    • In the Independent Variables and Regression Parameters panels, click Add New or click Edit on an existing row and define the details as applicable. Click Update.

    • Click Save in the Command Item bar.

  6. Click Cancel to return to the Regression Model Summary screen.
    • Click Close to end the task.

Tips

Details for a regression model can be manually edited or imported from an XML file produced from the output of a regression analysis in IBM's SPSS software. The XML file must be generated using the Output Management System in SPSS since the import process requires a specific structure and content for the XML file.
