Configure Estimate Calculations

Description

Configure a property sale estimate using rules and criteria including prior year, current year, and 1st through 3rd future years. The estimations can be grouped. Total estimates are the sum of the Tax and Penalty amounts calculated using the rules you define on this screen.

Steps for Header and Panels

NOTE: The steps for each of the panels is identical; therefore the steps below apply to each panel.

  1. On the Search for Tax Sales screen, enter your search criteria and click Search.

  2. In the Tax Sales panel, click to select an item in the grid.
  3. On the Configure Estimate Calculations screen, enter or select an As of Date.
  4. Define the Inflation Factor if using Inflation Factor for the grouping information for the Base in the Add new record panel. For example, if estimating that inflation is 2%, enter a .02.

  5. Click Add new record in the Prior Year panel to define Grouping information.

    • Enter the Grouping number.

    • Select Operator 1 (+, -, *, or /, representing add, subtract, multiply or divide).

    • Select the Base upon which to estimate the calculation, for example:

      • Charge Type

      • Charge Code

      • Total Prior Year Due As Of Date

      • Total Current Year Due As Of Date

      • Inflation Factor

      NOTE: Based on the Base you select, you will need to select any additional parameters. For example, if you select Charge Type, the following options are available for selection.

  6. Select Operator 2 (+, -, *, or /, representing add, subtract, multiply or divide) and enter the Operand value.

  7. NOTE: At any point click Refresh (far right of panel header) to refresh the screen with the settings defined.

  8. Click Insert to insert the record.

    • Click Cancel to cancel the record insertion.

  9. Click Edit on any existing row to edit it.

    • Click Delete on any existing row to delete it.

  10. Save after defining the application information for the particular panel(s).

  11. Click Save as Default to save you entries as the default estimate configuration.

  12. Enter a Test PIN and click Go to generate the estimate.

    • Click Close to end the task.
