Setup/TAG Mapping

Description

Use this task to search for and add a listing of newspapers, and associate each newspaper with contacts and TAGs.

Setup/TAG Mapping Steps

  1. On the Search Newspaper List screen, enter your search criteria and click Apply in the Search Filters panel header.

  2. In the Newspapers panel, click Edit Mappings to open the Edit Newspaper/TAG Mappings screen on which you can maintain TAG mappings. When finished mapping, click Cancel to return to this screen.

  3. In the Newspapers panel, click Add or Edit to open the Edit Newspaper screen.

    • Enter or edit the newspaper name and publisher.
    • Make a selection from the Advertising Fee drop-down list. Fees are set up via Configuration > Fee Maintenance.
    • Enter a Maximum Advertising Threshold, which is the maximum amount allowable expense for advertising with the particular newspaper. Changes are displayed in the Fee and Threshold History panel.

    If you set the Tax Sale Use Newspaper Specific Formats application setting to True, you can make selections from the following drop-down lists:

    • Advertising Template
    • Advertising Vendor File
    • Tax Sale Interface Export
    • Publication Vendor File
    • Publication Template
  4. In the Contacts panel, click Add or Edit to open the Records Search for Legal Party screen.

    • Enter your search criteria and click Search.
    • In the Search Results panel, click to select an item in the grid.
    • On the Edit Newspaper screen, your selection is added to the Contacts panel.
  5. In the User Defined panel, enter the relevant information.

  6. In the PIN ranges panel, click Add or Edit to define the From PIN and To PIN ranges. Click Insert.

  7. NOTE: PIN ranges are used for advertising by California jurisdictions. PIN ranges are applied before TAG Mapping when the Advertising List is generated.

  8. In the TAG Mappings panel, click Edit to open the Edit Newspaper/TAG Mapping screen on which you can maintain the TAGs associated with the newspaper. Click Cancel to return to this screen.

  9. Click Notes in the Command Item bar to open the Notes View screen. Click Close to return to this screen.

  10. Click Save.

    • Click List to return to the Search Newspaper List screen.

    • Click Close to end the task from the Edit Newspaper screen.

  11. On the Search for Newspaper List screen, click Delete to remove a row from the Newspapers panel.
  12. Click Close to end the task.

Prerequisites and Setup

  • Tax Authority Groups must be set up via Records > Config > Tax Authority Groups > Search for Tax Authority Groups > Set Up Tax Authority Group.

  • Legal Parties to which to associate the contact for the newspaper advertising must be set up via Records > Legal Party Maintenance.

  • The Tax Sale Advertising fee set from individual publication application setting determines whether to allow fees set at the individual publication level on the Edit Newspaper screen. The Apply or Remove Delinquent Fees screen is then used to apply or remove the fee.
