Revenue Object Information Changes
Navigate: Records > Other Revenue Object Maintenance > Revenue Object Information Changes
Description
Use the Revenue Object Information Changes task to change information about a revenue object.
IMPORTANT: Any use of this change process is at the user's risk. If the revenue object PIN, AIN, County, or Class Code is already used for a current or prior cadastre or tax roll, check with your supervisor or the Aumentum Support team before changing it. Otherwise, unusual data display situations could be the result. It is suggested that you note any action taken when changing the information using this task.
Steps
The correct method to change a PIN is via the split/merge process. The PINs are intended to be permanent parcel numbers and not assigned for interim changes. To change revenue object information:
-
On the Records Search for Revenue Object screen, enter your search criteria and click Search.
-
On the Records Search Results for Revenue Object screen, click to select an item in the Search Results grid.
-
On the Change Revenue Object screen, make a selection from the Data to change drop-down list.
-
AIN – only available if the AIN Setting application setting is set to Manually enter AIN - allows edit.
NOTE: Edit checks can be enabled to verify that the AIN is within the required field length and format.
-
Class Code – This is available only if the CAMA System application setting is set to None. Use the drop-down list to select a class code. You can change the class code to any of the values in the list. The class codes that display in the list are maintained in the Revenue Object Sub Type systype, which is located in the Configuration > Systypes menu. The class code list is based on the revenue object sub-type (such as parcel, personal, personal mobile home).
-
Confidential – When you select this option, a Confidential checkbox is displayed only if you have user rights to confidential revenue object data. The Confidential History by Date panel is displayed at the lower-right of the screen and displays the history of any changes to confidential information, such as situs or mailing address. See Dependencies, Prerequisites, and Setup at the end of this topic for more information.
-
Coordinates – Coordinates can be entered manually or can come from a GIS interface. X and Y are longitude and latitude; Z is elevation.
-
County – When you select this option, the County drop-down list is displayed, which contains values related to your selection.
-
Geocode – You can enter the exact location of geospatial point at, below, or above the surface of the earth at a specified moment of time. Your jurisdiction may use this functionality in different ways.
-
PIN – You can enter a formatted or unformatted value for the new PIN. If a mask has been defined, Records validates the value against the mask and displays any errors. Also, if you enter an unformatted value, Records validates and formats it when you click or tab out of the PIN field. See Records for more information. Note that after a PIN change, the old PIN is not marked as inactive.
-
Rights – You can select the estate rights. Depending on the estate right you select, you might also have Description options available, depending on local configuration. For example, if you select Split Surface Rights - Split Estate, descriptions available might include Farming, Fishing, Grazing, Hunting, and Water. Depending on the estate/description you select, you might also have type options available. For example, if you select an estate of All rights but subject to long term lease(s), you might have four Types available, such as Fee Simple.
-
User-Defined fields – Vary by jurisdiction.
-
Enter or select the Effective Date of the change. The default is the date you entered on the Records Search screen. This date must be:
-
Later than or equal to the revenue object’s creation date.
-
Earlier than or equal to the current date.
-
-
Optionally, click Notes in the Command Item bar to add a note about the change.
-
Click Save to retain your changes.
NOTE: The various By Date grids display only those user-defined fields that either have a current value, a true value, or have been changed for this revenue object. The changes are effective dated, and the date of the change displays in the grids below.
NOTE: Both County and Class Code changes are from the change date forward. County changes are usually completed in anticipation of an annexation or moving the county line. If you want to change the value for all time, enter the creation date of the revenue object as the change date. This date is the earliest date in the County History by Date panel.
NOTE: You can backdate a change to the PIN. For example, if PIN R01 was established 1/1/2000 and was changed to R02 on 2/2/2002 and changed again to R04 on 3/3/2003, you can enter a backdated change; for example, on 5/1/2002 change the PIN to R03. The PIN value will be R03 between the dates 5/1/2002 and 3/3/2003 when it changes to R04.
