Configuration
Description
The Aumentum mailing and situs address data entry process can be integrated with customer address validation software.
Use the Address Validation Configuration task to define address validation criteria and parameters for the address matching validation process. This task is used in combination with various application settings for any jurisdiction plus additional application settings for jurisdictions using specific address validation software or website, such as Melissa Data, Spectrum Address Validation Module (formerly Group 1 Address Validation), or Automated Information Mapping System (AIMS).
Addresses can be created both inside and outside of Aumentum. When addresses that are created outside of Aumentum using the customer's address validation software are sent to Aumentum using Aumentum web services, they are attached to a revenue object. Aumentum adds an external ID to the address to create a link to the uploaded addresses. Aumentum verifies the addresses already defined in Aumentum to the uploaded addresses.
If the address match is valid based on a user-defined percentage threshold confidence level, the Aumentum address is set to the address from the validation software.
IMPORTANT: For the Melissa web service the confidence level feature is not designed to work with situs address validation, only with mailing address validation.
IMPORTANT: Role security is available for the various tax year and effective date fields on Records [Legal Paty Maintenance] screens for Records processes and workflows that persist data and that apply the current effective date tax year to certain Records modifications. You can modify tax year and effective date fields on Records [xxx ] screens with the applicable role privileges. For example, the Maintain Legal Party screen (Records > Legal Party Maintenance > Records Search > Maintain Legal Party) includes an Effective Date field to when adding associated legal parties. If you change any persisting data, Records checks whether you have role restrictions to apply the change. Records also checks the date defined for the Records effective date application setting, Records changes restricted prior to date. If you have role privileges and change data on or later than the date configured, the change is allowed.
Set this as follows:
- Go to Configuration > Application Settings > Maintain Application Settings. Select the Setting Type of Effective Date and the Filter By Module of Tax > Records. Click Edit on the application setting and set the date as applicable.
- Go to Configuration > Security and User Maintenance > Roles > Maintain a Role > Edit Role Details > Data Items > Edit Data Item Roll Details. Drill to Items > PERSISTPERMISSIONS (Records) from the Details panel. Set user rights for the role as applicable for one of the two restrictions, either Allow With Warning or Not Allow. In the event security rights are defined for both restrictions, the higher restriction Not Allow is applied.
