Description

NOTE: Spectrum Address Validation Software by Pitney Bowes was formerly known as Group 1 Address Validation Software.

This screen displays the mailing address validation results from the Schedule Mailing Address Validation batch process. It displays the addresses that did not meet the confidence level that you specified in Application Settings. Use this screen to view and correct the records.

IMPORTANT:

• Revenue objects have security rights. If you do not have view rights, the Primary Situs field displays the default security message of CONFIDENTIAL ADDRESS. When security rights for user roles do not allow read/write privileges for revenue objects, users are not allowed to change ownership, create or maintain mailing or situs addresses, create or update revenue objects, or set the revenue object effective date.

  Edit the application setting

  If you are the administrator, you can edit the value for the Confidential revenue object message application setting.

  1. Click Configuration > Application Settings.
  2. In the Maintain Applications Settings screen, select Effective Date from the Setting type drop-down list, and select Records from the Filter by module drop-down list.
  3. Locate Confidential revenue object message and click Edit.
  4. Type a new value and click Apply.
  5. Click Save in the Command Item bar.
  6. Click Close to end the task.
  Set security rights

  Click Configuration > Security and User Maintenance > Roles.

  in the Maintain a Role screen, locate the role and click Edit.

  In the Edit Role Details screen, ensure that Configuration > Security and User Maintenance > Roles is in the Granted Menu Items panel and click Details.

  In the Edit Additional Role Details screen, click to select Edit Non-Menu Item Role Details.

  In the Rights panel, select the checkbox for each right you want to set, then click Set Rights.

  Click Save in the Command Item bar, then click Close to end the task.

Steps

1. On the View and Correct Mailing Address Validations screen, click the row of the address to correct.

2. On the Edit Mailing Address screen, change the address fields as needed to correct the address and click Next.

3. On the Confirm Mailing Address screen, click Accept to accept the address, or click Reject.

4. Click Close to end this task.

Tips

Foreign mailing addresses are not included in validation.

The format of mailing addresses in Aumentum follows the rules set forth in USPS Pub 28.

Situs address rules are determined primarily by the National Emergency Numbering Association (for example, 911).

If you are researching an address for validation purposes, you can look up the address in Microsoft's Map Point website, http://www.bing.com/maps. This site provides aerial views that can assist you in your research (for example, the address is part of a multi-building complex). To get started, enter the address in the upper left-hand portion of the screen and click Search Maps. On the map, you can choose Aerial and then use the Zoom In and Zoom Out tools as needed.
