Configure Alternate Values

Description

Using this task, you can set up and reference configurable data for entering the values from multiple sources when appraising certain types of property, such as vessels. By recording and retaining multiple values, you can determine an appropriate combined or adjusted value that the appraisal processes deem appropriate.

  1. Click Configuration > Security and User Maintenance > Roles.
  2. On the Maintain a Role screen, click Edit for a role.
  3. On the Edit Role Details screen, click Personal Property Appraisal in the Available Menu Items panel and click Add Selected.
  4. Click Save in the Command Item bar.
  5. In the Granted Menu Items panel, click Personal Property Appraisal > Setup > Configure Alternate Values > Details.
  6. On the Edit Additional Role Details screen, select the checkbox for each applicable item in the Rights panel and click Set Rights.
  7. Click Save in the Command Item bar.
    • Click Close to end the task.

Steps

  1. On the Alternate Values Configuration screen, make a selection from the Year drop-down list and enter an Effective Date in the header.
  2. The Code List tab is selected by default.
  3. Make a selection from the Category drop-down list (items in this list are mapped to Systype Categories).
    1. Click Add New in the title bar, or click the Pencil icon to edit an item in the list.
    2. Enter the Code, Description, and Display Order.
    3. Select the checkbox if you want this item to be selectable in the Code Mapping tab.
    4. In the Value Strata column, click the ellipses icon, make your selections in the pop-up, and click OK.
    5. Select the checkbox to enable Ignore Zero, if desired. (If zero is entered in the Alt Values tab, the average excludes zero entries in the calculation.)
    6. Click the green check mark to save your changes.
    1. Click Add New in the title bar, or click the Pencil icon to edit an item in the list.
    2. Enter the Code, Description, and Display Order.
    3. Select the checkbox if you want this item to be selectable in the Code Mapping tab.
    4. Make a selection from the Percent/Amount drop-down list.
    5. Make a selection from the Adjustment Levels drop-down list.
    6. Click the green check mark to save your changes.
    1. Click the Pencil icon to edit an item in the list.
    2. Enter the Code, Description, and Display Order.
    3. Select the checkbox if you want this item to be selectable in the Code Mapping tab.
    4. Make a selection from the Default Value Source Types drop-down list.
    5. Make a selection from the Default Value Strata drop-down list.
    6. Select the checkbox in the Pass to Value Basis column as needed.
  4. Click the Code Mapping tab.
  5. Make a selection from the Mapping Category drop-down list. (Choices are pre-defined systypes).

    1. The Value Source Type panel shows all selectable items from the Code List tab.
    2. Optionally, click the ellipses icon in the title bar to enables filters to help locate an item.
    3. Click the Pencil icon to edit an item in the grid.
    4. In the first column, select the checkbox to choose which codes (3 max.) are available in the Alt Value tab on the Maintain Assets screen (via Personal Property Appraisal > Assets).
    5. The Code and Description columns are populated from the Code List tab.
    6. Display Order establishes the order of the fields in the Alt Value tab on the Maintain Assets screen.
    7. In the Required column select the checkbox in order to require a value for the code.
    8. Click the green check mark to save your changes.
    1. The Adjustment Type panel shows all selectable items from the Code List tab.
    2. Optionally, click the ellipses icon in the title bar to enables filters to help locate an item.
    3. Click the Pencil icon to edit an item in the grid.
    4. In the first column, select the checkbox to choose which codes are available in the Alt Value tab on the Maintain Assets screen (via Personal Property Appraisal > Assets).
    5. The Code and Description columns are populated from the Code List tab.
    6. Display Order establishes the order of the fields in the Alt Value tab on the Maintain Assets screen.
    7. In the Required column select the checkbox in order to require a value for the code.
    8. Click the green check mark to save your changes.
  6. Click Save in the Command Item bar.
    • Click Mapping Report to open the Mapping Report Configuration pop-up.
    • Click Refresh to update the screen with changes.
    • Click Close to end the task.
