Attributes
Navigate: Personal Property Appraisal > Setup > Attributes
Description
Personal property attributes are similar to user-defined fields in other Aumentum modules. They enable each jurisdiction to define and track personal property account and asset data that is particular to their jurisdiction and not stored elsewhere in the Aumentum PPA module. They are optional. Use the Maintain Attributes task to view and maintain the list of account and asset attributes your jurisdiction is using.
-
Maintain Attributes - View a list of existing account and asset attributes; add a new attribute; edit an existing attribute; inactivate or reactivate an attribute.
The two attribute Object Types are:
-
Asset attributes - used to prompt users to enter data when entering new assets. Asset attributes are configured by asset category, which represents a type of asset.
-
Personal account attributes - used to prompt users to enter data when entering new personal property accounts. Account attributes are configured by class code using a script; there is no user interface for this function.
Account and asset attributes are further classified into two types:
-
Identifier - typically used to uniquely identify accounts or assets. They are also search criteria on the Search for Personal Property Accounts and Search for Assets pages.
-
Attribute - describe characteristics about the accounts or assets. Examples include Boat Use, Color, and Boat Material. The majority of user-defined attributes fall into this category. These attributes are not included as search criteria for accounts or assets.
When you enter new personal property accounts, you are prompted to enter values for the account attributes. Likewise, when you enter new assets, you are promoted to enter the asset attributes that have been defined and selected for the asset type.
